Manual Handling

This course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical understanding required to undertake manual handling activities safely and minimise the risk of injury in the workplace. It focuses on developing awareness of common manual handling hazards, legal responsibilities, and safe techniques for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving loads.
Key topics include manual handling legislation and guidance, identifying hazards and risk factors, principles of risk assessment, understanding the causes of musculoskeletal injuries, correct lifting techniques, posture and body mechanics, use of handling aids and equipment, and methods of reducing risk through safer systems of work.
Practical demonstrations and workplace-based examples are incorporated throughout the course to reinforce learning and help delegates apply safe manual handling principles in real working environments.
By the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of safe manual handling practices and the skills needed to carry out tasks more safely and effectively while helping reduce the potential for injury.
