Fire Awareness/Fire Warden/Fire Marshal Including Extinguisher use.

This course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical understanding required to support fire safety within the workplace and undertake the responsibilities of a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal. It focuses on fire prevention, emergency procedures, and the actions required to help protect people and premises in the event of a fire.
Key topics include the basic principles of fire science, common causes of workplace fires, fire prevention measures, legal responsibilities, identifying fire hazards, means of escape, emergency evacuation procedures, the role and duties of Fire Wardens/Marshals, raising the alarm, assisting with evacuations, roll call and assembly point procedures, and an overview of firefighting equipment and extinguisher types.
The course also includes practical fire extinguisher training using a gas-powered fire rig, allowing delegates to gain hands-on experience in selecting and using the correct extinguisher for different classes of fire within a controlled environment. Practical exercises focus on safe operating techniques, understanding extinguisher limitations, and building confidence in responding appropriately to small developing fires where safe to do so.
By the end of the course, attendees will have a better understanding of workplace fire risks, Fire Warden/Marshal responsibilities, and the practical skills and confidence to safely use portable fire extinguishers as part of an effective workplace fire safety strategy.
